A highly graphic and animated mask from Indonesian Borneo. This example, dating to the mid 20th century, features bold paint, a woven basketry cap, and brass earrings suspended from red trade cloth. Brass was used for the eyes, with one eye since lost. The mouth bar features a bite, evidence of use.
